Venues, bars and wineries
Live music in the Adelaide Hills, for bars, pubs and cellar doors
I'm Solly Fern, an acoustic performer and songwriter from Adelaide, and I play folk pop sets of 1 to 3 hours for venues in Hahndorf, Stirling, Lobethal and the wineries around Greater Adelaide.
I mix covers, from 1950s rock 'n' roll to today's pop, with songs from my EP, Into Halves, on guitar alone or guitar and piano.
I dress my corner of your bar or cellar door in rugs, vines and fairy lights, and it becomes part of the look of your venue.
- Bars, pubs, wineries and cellar doors across the Adelaide Hills
- Folk pop sets of 1 to 3 hours, shaped to your room
- Covers and my own songs, side by side

Hahndorf, Stirling, Lobethal
Folk pop for the Adelaide Hills
I play for the bars, pubs and cellar doors of the Adelaide Hills, from Hahndorf and Stirling out to Lobethal, and for wineries right across Greater Adelaide.
My songs come from folk with rock running through them, which sits as easily with a long lunch at a cellar door as with a Saturday night in a front bar.
Closer to town, I play venues in North Adelaide, Norwood and the Adelaide CBD.
Busking and gigging out of a beat-up van taught me to hold the attention of people who came for a drink, and I bring that to every bar and cellar door that books me.
Each set I play is tailored to your room, the people in it and the hours you trade.
If your venue hosts functions, my corporate events page covers launches and staff events.

The visual set
What I bring into your venue
I mark out my space and dress it, so a corner of your bar or cellar door becomes a small stage with a character of its own.
- Rugs to mark out my space in the room
- Fairy lights and vines twined through my keyboard and mic stand
- An outfit picked for the occasion and for your venue
- My guitar, plus my keyboard if piano suits the room
- Covers in rock 'n' roll, country, pop and classical styles
- My own songs from Into Halves, mixed through the set
- Room in the set for your regulars' song requests
Into Halves, live
A full room at The Jade
On 19 July 2026, The Jade filled up for the launch of my debut EP, Into Halves.
That night is the best way I can show a venue manager what my set looks like with a crowd in front of it.
The photos from that night show a standing crowd in front of a stage dressed with vines, drapes and a chandelier.
I bring the same care for how a stage looks to every venue I play, whatever the size of the room.
Graded footage of the launch is on its way, and you can hear the songs now on the original show page.

Covers and originals
Covers beside my own songs
A set for your venue can lean on covers, on my own songs or anywhere between, and I'll suggest a mix for your crowd.
Covers from the 1950s on
From Elvis Presley to Harry Styles, picked for the people in the room and the hour of the day.
Songs from Into Halves
My EP's 4 songs reach out to the unmoored and anyone quietly rebuilding, and they sit naturally among the covers.
Your regulars' requests
I take song requests, so send me the songs your regulars ask for when you book.
The original show
For a night built around my own music, host Into Halves live as a show at your venue.

Australian songs from my list
Cold Chisel, Kasey Chambers, Missy Higgins and Vance Joy sit on my sample covers list, among songs from every decade since the 1950s.

Questions
Questions from venue managers
Do you play live music in the Adelaide Hills?
Yes, I play for bars, pubs, wineries and cellar doors in Hahndorf, Stirling, Lobethal and right through the Adelaide Hills.
Norwood, North Adelaide and the CBD are part of my Greater Adelaide area too, with no extra charge for travel anywhere in it.
How long are your sets?
Between 1 and 3 hours.
Tell me your trading hours when you enquire, and I'll fit the set to them.
Do you play covers or your own songs?
I play both.
The covers span the 1950s to today, and I mix in songs from my EP, Into Halves, wherever they suit the room.
For a whole night of my own music, see the original show.
Can my regulars request songs?
Yes, send their favourites with your enquiry.
To see my range first, browse my covers on the weddings page.
Can you play in a small bar or cellar door?
Yes, I play solo, on guitar alone or guitar and piano, from a compact set-up.
The guitar-only set-up takes the least room, and the rugs I bring mark out exactly where I'll play.
I need a space at least 2.3 metres wide and 1.6 metres deep, plus a power outlet, and I bring my own PA unless your venue has one.
Describe the corner you'd like me in when you enquire, and I'll match the set-up to it.
Do you dress the space you play in?
Yes, I bring rugs to mark out my space, and fairy lights and vines for my keyboard and mic stand.
My outfit suits the occasion too, so the whole set fits the look of your venue.
What should I include in my enquiry?
Your venue and suburb, the date, and the hours you'd like music.
A note on the room, who's coming and any sound equipment already in the venue helps me plan the set.
Are you insured to play at my venue?
Yes, I hold $30 million public liability insurance.
I'll send the certificate of currency with your booking, ready for your venue's records.
